In this course you will learn how to implement a variety of engineering capabilities in a structured and efficient way with the SIMATIC PCS7 process management system. By working on the original SIMATIC PCS7 training, you will implement software to automate the plant process up to the HMI interface level. SIMATIC PCS7 features such as integration of all subsystems, plant-oriented engineering, data management and project management are complemented by advanced features that enable efficient and cost-effective engineering.

This course is intended for those who work in the maintenance of a finished PCS7 plant. It goes through the basic features of the SIMATIC PCS7 system, architecture, distribution of controls, system hardware components, basic mode of operation and control in CFC and SFC, operation with basic and commonly used monitoring blocks and proper operation within WinCC visualization (messages, trends …) to eliminate any system error as quickly as possible.

The TIA Portal supports engineering tasks intuitively and effectively. A fully integrated automation portal assists the user in every task and programming step thanks to its transparency, intelligent navigation and user-friendly features. Features like drag / drop, copy / paste, and auto-complete action make your work faster and easier.

With this course, students gain knowledge of project creation and management in STEP7 using the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal, insight into configuring controller connections and hardware settings, understanding the basics of CPU maintenance, monitoring and developing programs in LAD / FBD languages using logic and arithmetic operations, timers, and meters virtually master the basics of structured programming and program writing in SCL.
